Causey Reservoir is a little bit more advanced of a dive, with low visibility and extremely steep sides. This is a good dive if you enjoy exploring cliff faces, or want to practice your buoyancy.
If you are looking for an excuse to come get wet, or a reason to socialize, we look forward to seeing you out here.
Water temps are 70 at the surface, but drop quickly below 10 feet. The reservoir sits at 5,700 feet, so this will be an altitude dive. See the listing in our dive sites page for complete information on the expected dive conditions.
Lights are recommended, as this will be a limited visibility dive. DSMB’s are required as there is a lot of surface traffic, and it's advisable to dive with them deployed above 20 feet near the cliff walls, as there many cliff jumpers in the area.
Please pay close attention to the maps in this post, as your GPS will NOT take you to this spot unless you tell it to very specifically. The address listed is for reference only. The parking lot is small, and carpooling is recommended.
Dive snacks and lunch will be provided for paid attendees, but all are welcome to tag along, both for diving and for surface recreation, and general socialization. The support trailer will NOT be available for this dive, so please bring all your own equipment. Safety equipment will still be on site.
